Artist Statement

Adventure at its core is the pursuit of the unknown, and this mindset leads us to the discoveries that make us feel alive. Adventure often includes a passport but can be as simple as reframing a familiar place in a new light. Curiosity drives much of the exploration behind my work, and my greatest resource is the ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Strong photographs are rarely convenient and often require patience, discomfort, or risk. For me, a photograph succeeds when it reconstructs an experience. A good photograph is well lit and composed, a great photograph tells a story, and an outstanding photograph tears into the fabric of human emotion.
