Bio
Photography began for me in high school with a black-and-white film SLR camera. Learning on film taught me to slow down, think, and adjust before every shot. My camera had no automatic features, so intentional choices about every parameter became my shooting style from the beginning. Later, work in the nuclear and aerospace engineering industries gave me the technical perspective which I learned to apply. I've grown to appreciate the math and physics of photography as much as the artistic side. Interestingly, my brightest creative and artistic spark tends to coincide with technical challenges on the job.
My travel camera bag is the one I really don't want to lose, and sometimes it's the only bag I manage not to. Traveling has taught me that the best way to experience a culture is to learn it, embrace it, and above all, respect it.
